Kun je iets meer vertellen over jezelf, als professional én als persoon?

What really defines me? Being active and social, Bram shares. I live in Arnhem, I’m 26 years old, and in my free time, I enjoy running and playing the guitar, though I don’t play as much as I’d like.

He got serious about running over the past year. Last Saturday, I even braved a run at -9°C. Rain lover/runner? Not really.

Social interaction is equally important to Bram. If my best friend had to describe me, he’d say I’m sociable, active, and outgoing. I don’t like being alone at home, I meet people often, and I’m a good conversationalist.

Professionally, Bram has over four years of experience as a back-end developer, primarily with Umbraco (his certifications speak for themselves). In recent years, he has increasingly embraced the human side of his work, interacting with clients and stakeholders. That social aspect gives me a lot of energy.

What made you decide to join Orange Juice?

The cliché about vision really applies here, Bram says. I immediately recognized myself in what Orange Juice wants to achieve from 2026 onward. That was very appealing. On top of that, the introductions were fun, lively, and engaging, and the recruitment process felt very comfortable.

He was also drawn to the way the company works: Being more than just an executor, acting as a partner throughout the entire process, and looking beyond the initial request, that suits me perfectly. With his solid foundation, Bram sees Orange Juice as the place to further develop his expertise and knowledge.

What will your role be within Orange Juice, and how do you see your contribution?

My role is back-end developer, and I’ll be building great software for a variety of clients. I also want to leverage my Umbraco expertise and experience with Azure migrations. Basically, I want to contribute my part, in line with our vision.

Ownership and energy come naturally to Bram. Looking beyond the immediate question, taking responsibility, and communicating effectively is exactly who I am.

What do you think makes a good developer?

In the past, I’d say being precise and completing solutions down to the last detail. That’s still important. But things are evolving. Just like in our vision, it’s increasingly about putting seeing the world through the clients eyes, understanding what they truly need, and looking beyond the initial request.

That skill develops over time, through experience and collaboration.

What gives you energy in your work?

Most importantly: delivering something that truly works and seeing the results. That’s very rewarding.

Bram also values the social aspect. Collaborating with different roles and people, seeing the impact everyone has, and constantly experiencing innovation, it keeps work fun and challenging. It never gets boring.

What kind of development do you want to pursue in the coming years?

I want to develop some leadership within my role, experience all processes, including Azure migrations, and learn how we, as a company, approach clients and the world. I also want to make automated testing an even more powerful and integral part of our processes.

On top of that, I hope to learn a lot from my colleagues, their work methods and perspectives, so I can grow both as a professional and as a team player.
